Menu 

Nutrition is very important to Toybox Nursery. 

​Our menu has been developed in consultation with our parents and children, whilst being informed by the nutritional guidance document 'Setting the Table'.

All food will be freshly bought locally and prepared on the premises daily.

​We aim to change the menus as required, involving the children and catering for their likes and dislikes. 
Spring/Summer Menu 2022
​
Menu will commence on Tuesday 19th April and will rotate on a four-weekly basis.
 
This menu has been lovingly planned taking guidance from the national practice guidance document ‘Setting the Table’ (NHS, 2018).  All cultural and health related dietary requirements will be accommodated, with vegetarian and ‘free from’ adaptations to the listed meals accommodated.  No child will ever go hungry, sandwiches are available as a second option for the occasions where children do not wish to consume the meals on offer.

Lunch Week 1
 
 
Monday: Sundried tomato and basil pasta.

Tuesday: Chinese chicken fried rice, with seasonal vegetables.

Wednesday: Tuna pasta, drizzled with olive oil, peas and corn.

Thursday: Beef kheema masala (mild Indian curry), served on a bed of boiled rice.

Friday: Home-made pizza (a choice of peperoni or margarita), served with garlic bread and a cucumber salad.
 
 
 

Lunch Week 2
 
 
Monday: Spaghetti bolognaise.

Tuesday: Quorn chicken chasseur, served on a bed of boiled rice.

Wednesday: Salmon pasta, drizzled with olive oil, peas and corn.

Thursday: Minestrone soup, served with buttery crusty bread.

Friday: Chicken and chorizo pasta, with seasonal vegetables.

 
 
 
 

Lunch Week 3

Fruit yoghurt, low fat custard, sugar free jelly, honey flapjack, buttered pancake/malt loaf, fruit scone and Fromage frais.
 
Afternoon Tea
 
A selection of fruits with either crackers and cheese, warm toasted crumpets with butter, wholemeal Pitta with humous or breadsticks and rice cakes with various flavours of dips.
